Haryana is a state in North-Central India. With a population of 25 million (2.5 crore) (2011 census), it is the 18th largest state by population and is the 21st largest state by area with 44,212 square kilometers of area.

It was separate from the state of East Punjab on 1 November 1966 due to Linguistic differences.

It is quite well known for being amongst the best performing agrarian state, even called the Milk Pail of India, and is even well developed industrially nowadays, containing 32 special economic zones (SEZs) and the 5th highest per capita GDP in the entire nation. It also has a well developed economy and infrastructure including national highways and state roads.

It has a rich history, known for being the land of the gita, many monuments, heritage, flora and fauna, and tourist sites are present in the state.

It is neighboured by Punjab, Himachal Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh. It also surrounds the national capital of New Delhi on 3 sides, with multiple cities a part of the National Capital Region along with Delhi itself. One of these cities, Gurgaon is amongst India's largest financial and technological hub.
