China, officially known as the People's Republic of China is a country in East Asia, it is the most populous country in the world, has the largest land area in Asia and the third-largest in the world after Russia and Canada.
It consists of 33 administrative units directly under the central government: 22 provinces, 5 autonomous regions, 4 municipalities (Chongqing, Beijing, Shanghai, and Tianjin) and 2 special administrative regions (Hong Kong and Macau).
Relations with India[]
China and India are the two most populous countries in the world, having both gained their present form of the country in 1949 and 1947 respectively.
While the two nations have mantained peaceful ties for over thousands years, due to shared Buddhist history and the silk road, though there was very little political interaction between the two.
Independence Time[]
Upon independence, while India lead by Jawaharlal Nehru adopted a parliamentary democracy and an economic model with a mix of socialism and capitalism, Mao Zedong of the People's Republic set up a communist style of government and economy. India seeked non-alignment while China wanted to export its communist revolution, leading to differences when it came to global issues.
